Safety of Physician-Owned Hospitals Questioned
A federal investigation of physician-owned hospitals has revealed that most of these specialty facilities are strikingly ill-equipped to address medical emergencies. The results of the report raise serious question about the overall safety of such facilities, lawmakers and health officials say.
