$38.5 Million Awarded in Cerebral Palsy Case
A Connecticut jury has awarded $38.5 million in damages to the family of a boy who was born with cerebral palsy. Jurors found that Dr. Corrinne De Cholnoky was negligent for waiting to order a Caesarean section to untangle the boy’s umbilical cord, which was impeding blood flow to his brain. The award is believed to be the largest medical malpractice verdict in state history.
