Drug Makers Seeking Immunity
Drug companies may be closing in on a long sought-after goal: federal protection from lawsuits. Advocates for pre-emption argue that only the Food and Drug Administration has sufficient capabilities to regulate drugs and that expertise should not be called into question by a jury.
