A North Carolina pork processing plant failed to pay workers for essential duties such as donning protective gear and walking to work stations, a lawsuit claims. A representative for Smithfield Packing Company maintains that workers were fully paid for job duties. The plant, which employs more than 5,000 workers, is the largest pork processing facility in the world. AP, Winston-Salem Journal 02/11/2008
