Zetia and Vytorin Subject of Lawsuits

Attorneys in eight states have filed lawsuits on behalf of patients who were allegedly misled into believing that cholesterol drugs Vytorin and Zetia were more effective than their generic counterparts. According to the lawsuits, drug makers Merck & Co. and Schering-Plough Corp. defrauded consumers and medical insurers who paid for the drugs through deceptive advertising and the delay of clinical trials.
