$19.6 Million Awarded for Brain Damaged Baby

A New York hospital and its doctors were responsible for injuries suffered by an infant and his mother during a 1998 delivery, a jury has concluded. According to an attorney for the family, the botched birthing procedure left the child brain damaged and the mother mutilated. Jurors awarded a total of $19.6 million to the mother and child.
