City Pays $5.5 Million to Police Shooting Victim
The city of Coronado, Calif. has agreed to pay $5.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by a former NFL player who was shot by an off-duty police officer. Steve Foley was shot in the back of his left knee and hip after the officer pulled him over on suspicion that he was driving under the influence. A doctor for Foley testified that he will experience lifetime physical problems as a result of his injuries. Karen Kucher, San Diego Union Tribune 07/07/2008
