$2 Million Awarded in Heart Surgery Case
A Rhode Island jury has ordered a hospital and doctor to pay $2 million to a man who claimed to have suffered brain damage during open heart surgery. According to the lawsuit, the man suffered from oxygen deprivation during the procedure at Rhode Island Hospital. An attorney for the hospital and doctor said they plan to appeal the verdict.
