$24 Million Awarded in Train Death Case
A Minnesota jury awarded $24 million Friday to the families of four people killed in a collision with a train. Anoka County jurors rejected arguments by Burlington Northern Santa Fe that the group had been trying to beat the train to the crossing, finding that the railroad was 90 percent responsible for the crash. The award is to be split equally among the four families. (Search "railroad message") Rochelle Olson and Lora Pabst, Minneapolis Star Tribune 06/13/2008
