$19 Million Awarded in Birth Injury Case

A New Jersey jury has ordered an obstetrician to pay more than $19 million to a boy who was born with severe brain damage and cerebral palsy. Jurors found that Aravind Palav was negligent for failing to provide an acceptable standard of care during the delivery of the boy. An attorney for Palav said they plan to pursue a new trial.
