Lawsuits Filed Over Yaz

Following the publication of two studies in BMJ, lawsuits have been filed over a birth control pill known as Yaz. Plaintiffs are alleging the drug has caused medical problems, including strokes. At least one plaintiff has alleged that Bayer aggressively promoted Yaz and misled patients about the risks associated with a new version of drospirenone, a synthetic form of the hormone progestin that Yaz and the older drug Yasmin use.
