Johnson & Johnson Recalls Implants

Johnson & Johnson has finally recalled hip implants over two years after the FDA began receiving complaints about their failure. The DePuy Orthopedic unit of J&J developed the hip replacement implants. Many patients have required a second hip replacement after the products failed. The devices covered by the recall are the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System. About 93,000 of these devices have been implanted in patients.
