$25.16 Million Awarded in Accutane Case

A jury awarded an Accutane patient $25.16 million in a lawsuit against drug maker Roche Holding AG. The victim claimed that Accutane caused his inflammatory bowl disease (IBS). He first got sick in 1995 after taking Accutane, an acne medication, and eventually underwent five surgeries and had to have his colon removed. Six Accutane users who filed suits have recovered $56 million.
