Kennedy Hodges Secures $1.8 Million Verdict

On February 26th, a Harris County jury returned a verdict of $1.8 million for Kennedy Hodges clients in a medical malpractice case . The family of Alexa Ibarra sought damages from an obstetrician due to a brachial plexus injury she suffered at birth. The family claimed that the injury resulted from the physician pulling down to hard on the baby's head following a shoulder dystocia. The physician claimed that maternal forces of labor caused the injury and he was therefore not negligent. The jury disagreed and awarded the clients the majority of the damages requested.
