GM recall of 2011 pickups and 2011 Escalade
GM Recall: Almost 7,000 2011 pickups recalled for inaccurate shift-leverGeneral Motors is recalling aruond 6,800 pickups from 2011 because the vehicles could roll away even though the automatic transmission's shift lever appears to be in the Park position. GM stated that a defective clip allowed the shift lever to appear to be in Park when it was not.
Models affected:
- Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon equipped with the 4-speed automatic and either the 2.9-liter 4-cylinder or 3.7-liter 5-cylinder engine.
About 739 SUVs and pickups are also being recalled for steering issues. GM stated that certain steering shaft bolts were not tightened properly.
Models affected:
- 2011 Cadillac Escalade
- Escalade ESV
- Chevrolet Silverado
- Suburban and Tahoe
- GMC Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
