Nissan Murano defect - Personal injury lawsuit
Nissan Murano has defect allowing vehicle to be turned off in any gear, suit claims
Nissan is facing a lawsuit over a design defect in their Murano model. The lawsuit, filed against Nissan North America Inc. and Nissan Motor Co., claims that the vehicle can be turned off in any gear. If the vehicle is not in latched park before it is turned off, it is free to roll and cause severe injuries, the lawsuit states.
A consumer filed the lawsuit earlier this month after suffering injuries because the car rolled over her foot.
The Nissan's intelligent key system allows drivers to turn off vehicles in any gear and remove the key. The lawsuit claims there is not a lock to ensure the vehicle is in park before it is turned off.
The lawsuit seeks damages for medical expenses, emotional distress, interest for the purchase price of the vehicle, attorney's fees and court costs.
