Stroller recall reannounced
Stroller recall re-announced after additional reports of finger amputation
More reports of children injured because of recalled strollers have prompted the manufacturer to re-announce a recall of Maclaren strollers sold prior to November 2009.
The hinge on the strollers poses a risk of finger amputation and laceration when unfolding or opening the stroller.
The company, Maclaren, has received 149 incident reports about the strollers. This includes five additional fingertip amputations, 16 additional lacerations, and 16 fingertip entrapments and bruising.
This second announcement of the recall includes Maclaren single- and double-umbrella strollers sold before November 2009.
The strollers, manufactured in China, were sold at mass retailers nationwide.
