Family files lawsuit in trucking accident that killed 8-year-old boy and two adults
A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by a family who lost three loved ones in a trucking accident . The lawsuit was filed against the driver, his employer, the city of Santa Barbara, and the state of California.
The suit alleges that the trucking company did not supervise and train the 61-year-old truck driver correctly. The suit also claims the truck driver was irresponsible, listing over 20 vehicle code violations by the driver including speeding, brake conditions, and failing to comply with vehicle inspection.
The suit also names the city, county and state of California as defendants and claims that the accident was caused by dangerous roadway conditions through a narrow highway pass and that all three government agencies knew about the issue but failed to take the proper highway precautions.
