Rig workers may face deadliest challenge on the road to work

In the last 10 years, at least 300 oil and gas workers were killed on our highways. These fatality rates are seven times the national average, if all industries are included in the statistics. The truth behind this statistic is that safety limits for driving and sleeping are being ignored because of some oil field exemptions. There is no determination yet as to what caused the crash, but the tank ruptured and authorities evacuated the area within a two-mile radius in order to clear the area. Deputies said the Southeast Texas site will likely be closed the entire day.
