BDP International Overtime Lawsuit for Logistic Coordinators

Comments (0)

Companies that operate at the global level tend to stay on top of overseas shipping regulations, but sometimes they overlook U.S. wage and overtime laws that affect their employees.

Unfortunately, this is one mistake that can cost employees lots of money in unpaid overtime. Fortunately, employees can take action to recover overtime pay due.

Case in Point
A former import logistics coordinator for BDP International filed a wage and hour lawsuit against the company for unpaid overtime claims. The employee claims that she often worked more than 40 hours a week for BDP International, but was not paid the federal overtime rate of 1.5 times her regular pay rate for those hours.

The former employee claims that the company misclassified her as exempt, but that her job duties did not properly fall under any of the exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Her job duties included handling bookings and preparing shipping materials.

This was filed as a collective action and if you worked for BDP International in the past three years and would like to learn your rights to join this lawsuit you may contact our office at 1-888-449-2068.

No exceptions: Overtime must be paid to non-exempt employees
By law, non-exempt employees must be paid time-and-a-half when they work more than 40 hours in a workweek. Often, our firm finds that when one employee is affected by incorrect pay practices, other employees are more than likely also experiencing overtime pay issues.

Many employees do not know whether they are eligible to receive overtime, but with one phone call to our office you can start a free case review to determine if you are being paid correctly under the law.

BDP International is a logistics company with headquarters in Philadelphia and operating in Houston, Texas, California, Georgia, Florida, Chicago, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, and Indiana.
