A Huntsville school bus which was carrying a freshman football team rolled over on the way to a game, which sent players to the hospital. The crash occurred in rural northwest Montgomery County. The accident occurred when the driver of a bus lost control. The bus ended up on its side.
Seven students and the driver were taken from the scene by ambulance and were transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe at Conroe Regional Medical Center. Another bus took 13 more students and two adults to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, no one suffered life-threatening injuries, although according to reports several students had deep cuts and one had a broken leg. Many parents believe that the school district is downplaying the severity of the injuries to the students.
School buses are one of the safest forms of transportation in the country. However, accidents can and do occur. When accidents do occur, the school district can be held liable for injuries.
