Tragically, one man was killed and four others were injured in a two-car accident in Houston near Brinkley Street. A 26 year old woman was driving a Buick and was speeding when she rear-ended a Toyota. Both cars flipped upon impact. The Toyota landed on its roof. One man in the rear of the Toyota was killed. Four others were injured in the accident.

The female driver of the Buick has been charged with intoxication manslaughter. In the past, she has been arrested for possessing marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and interfering with public duties. She was treated at a local hospital and is being held on a bond. According to police, the crash scene remains under investigation, but investigators know that speed was a factor because of the amount of damage to the vehicles.

Drunk driving accidents are very tragic but also extremely common. Despite the law and education about the dangers of drunk driving that have taken place over the past several decades, there is still a huge number of deaths and injuries caused by this dangerous activity. Every year, drunk driving kills about 10,000 people in the U.S.

If someone is responsible for an automobile accident caused by drinking and driving, that individual can be held legally liable even if he or she did not receive a citation. An experienced Houston drunk driving injury attorney can help build a case against the driver using police reports, eyewitness accounts, and expert testimony.
