Nine Students Hurt in Houston School Bus Accident

Comments (0)

Nine students were slightly hurt when the school bus on which they were riding collided with an SUV near a Houston school. The children were taken by ambulance after the accident. Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the accident, which caused the SUV to end up on its side.

There are almost half a million school buses throughout the U.S., and in general they are very safe methods of transportation. It’s more likely that a child will be injured while riding in a passenger vehicle versus a school bus. However, there are still accidents that occur that may be caused by the negligence of school bus drivers.

One of the biggest dangers to children of school bus rides is not the ride itself, but getting on and off the bus safely. Of the children who are fatally injured in bus accidents, most were either on foot or on a bicycle, and were struck by the school bus or another vehicle. In addition to those fatalities, thousands of children are injured each year while loading or unloading onto the school bus.

No child should ever be hurt because of the negligence of a school bus driver.
