Six Car Pileup in Houston Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

Comments (0)

Late last week one man was killed and three others were transported to the hospital in unknown condition following a six-car pileup in northeast Houston. The accident occurred when a pickup truck slammed into two cars that were stopped at a red light at the intersection of Bringhurst Street and Liberty Road. Two passengers of the truck were ejected from the vehicle, and one died at the scene. The driver was transported to the hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck was driving at a high rate of speed. The truck’s impact sent one of the cars into another oncoming pickup truck. Another car driving on Bringhurst hit the back of the pickup truck. Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Unfortunately, tens of thousands of people are killed in automobile accidents each year. Recently, Houston was named one of the deadliest cities for drivers in the country. A large percentage of fatalities involve drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The good news is that help may be available. Victims of automobile accidents that are caused by the negligence of another driver can recover compensation from that driver’s insurance policy or their personal assets. If the driver can’t be found or has insufficient or no insurance, the accident victim may be able to make a claim on his or her own automobile insurance policy. Accident victims are entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
